Purpose and Role

Together with the Chief Executive Officer as a member of the Executive Leadership Team, the Executive Director Community Services will play a pivotal role in building one, strong successful organisation, capable of delivering on the community’s vision and Council’s strategy themes.

THE POSITION

  • Working with Council Committees and Executive Leadership Team members you will have responsibility for the leadership and operations of the organisation, facilitating the creation of commercially ready services, formulating and implementing strategic and operational plans.
  • You will develop, articulate and implement a clear vision for the group’s future people, application and technology infrastructure needs, driving new levels of professionalism, living and breathing the organisations corporate values.
  • Your role will also be responsible for the financial processes, together with property transactions and asset management.
  • The tactical aspects of the role require a practical and efficient approach to resourcing and asset utilisation for both short term and future planning requirements.

A commensurate executive remuneration package is on offer for this key role reflecting the importance and scale of the responsibilities to the organisation.

THE PERSON

  • You will have outstanding interpersonal, communication and people management skills, coupled with an uncompromising commitment to professionalism and creating a dynamic workplace.
  • Be sustainable and engaging through people leadership providing analytical and problem solving skills and support for the business strategies and organisational directions.
  • Share a passionate belief in driving the delivery of services as a major infrastructure owner, providing quality customer service and fostering organisational values, whilst maximising efficiency of their operational delivery.
  • Have sound political acumen, solid negotiating abilities and an exceptional talent to maintain effective long term relationships within government, corporate and community arenas at the highest levels.
  • Be able to demonstrate your highly developed commercial skills and the character to negotiate effectively and influence at board and senior management level.
